Achilles

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Grey Tabby

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:       4/7/2009

Achilles is a very friendly, adorable, spunky, male kitten.  He has a charming little crossed eye that just adds to his charm!  He had to have one of his rear legs amputated due to a complication at birth.  It sure hasn't stopped him one bit!  He will be available for adoption at the beginning of July.  (LK)

Bernie

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Black and White

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      7/2008

I was found in the parking lot of a local Pet Smart with burnt paws.  I don’t remember much, but the vet says I probably rode in the parking lot on someone’s car engine.  My paws are all healed now and I am quite a little stinker.  I love to play and pounce on things.  I may be a little shy at first but once I get to know you, I will want you to play with me.  I don’t like dogs and will do well in a household with older children.  (JP)

Buttercup

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Torbie

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      4/4/2009

Buttercup nearly died when she was abandoned at 2 weeks of age. She has the most personality her very seasoned foster mommy has ever seen in a kitten. She is a clown and entertainer, always busy and into something!  She is now healthy and ready for her forever home.  (LK)

Cassie

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Black

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~3/2005

Cassie is a little more shy than sister, Midori.  Both Cassie and Midori were rescued from a colony near Wake Med when they were kittens.  Cassie’s picture doesn’t really show that she is a medium hair cat with a long fluffy tail.  She will require a little brushing to keep her mat-free, shiny and beautiful.  Once she gets comfortable with you, Cassie loves to cuddle. (CM)

Chicklet

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Grey Tabby (with orange stripe on nose)

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~3/1/2009

Cookie is very affectionate - she will roll around on the bed begging for attention.  She loves to be brushed, rubbed, scrubbed and nuzzled.  She is good with other cats and should be fine with children and dogs.  She's a wonderful little girl -- sweet as a 'cookie'.  (RM)

Dharman

Breed:    Domestic Long Hair

Color:     Black Smoke

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      9/2006

Dharman is a little character who started out in a line of cats at Operation Catnip. He was neutered and vaccinated and ear cropped before they realized he was not a feral cat. Dharman is a lover - playful, affectionate, attention seeking. Dharman will follow his foster mom around until she scoops him up and gives him lots of scrubbing and rubbing. Dharman gets along well with other cats as well. (RM)

Duncan

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Brown Tabby

Gender:  Neutered Male

Everett  ADOPTED

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Grey Tabby

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      ~2007

DECLAWED

I am a sweet handsome boy with lots of love to give.   I’m guessing my previous family had some financial issues as I was abandoned one early morning at the local PetSmart.  Luckily I was rescued by Paw Prints and I'm now seeking a forever home. My favorite hobby is to languish in the window sunshine while waiting for you to come home and love me. I have a very small voice, mainly because I’m content to just be near you. My foster mommy doesn’t have dogs or children but she believes I will adapt very well to any home. You must promise to commit for the rest of my life,  I want my next home to  last forever. (MB)

Frankie

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Tabby w/ Orange (Torbie)

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~4/2007

Frankie came into Paw Prints as a mother of 4 kittens plus raised another orphan kitten.  She looks rather serious here in her picture (she's busy nursing the 5 rugrats) but she can be quite a clown!  Her unusual features are that she has a half tail and she meows like a Siamese.  Filled with loads of personality, Frankie is good with other cats and holds her own with dogs.  (LK)

Fruit Stripe

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Grey Tabby

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~3/1/2009

Fruit Stripe and Chicklet are sisters that were rescued from the shelter.  They are both very active, playful and curious little tabby girls.  Everything is a toy to them but they are also happy to just be with you.  They are fine with other cats and love humans   They do not need to be adopted together.  (LK)

Georgie

Breed:    Domestic Long Hair

Color:     Tabby w/ White

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~6/2007

Georgie was found at a feral colony with her two sisters as young adults.  While Georgie is the most beautiful of the three girls, she is the shyest.  While she is sweet and affectionate at home, she holds back and does not show that side of her personality at adoption events and would take a couple of days to settle until a new environment.  She likes other cats and dogs, but she would be best suited to a quiet home with adults. (BW)

Gerri

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Gray & White

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      2/2007

Gerri was rescued from the Wake County Animal Shelter when she was 4 weeks old.  She and her sister were huddled together and literally scared to death. They were brought to their foster home where they were successfully treated for upper respiratory infection. Gerri's sister was adopted and now she is looking for her forever home. She is extremely outgoing and playful. She gets along well with other cats and enjoys gazing out her window in the cat room. (RM)

Gigi and Sassy

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Dilute Tortie

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~10/2003

Like twins???  We used to live in a feral colony in Garner and we were soooo friendly that we would oftentimes trip the volunteers when they were feeding us by trying to rub on their legs.  We're still a little shy at adoption events but we're real lovers in our foster home.  We are very close and would like to be adopted together.

Gracie

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Grey

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~2003

I’m a sweet cat that really just wants you all to myself. I’m not overly fond of other cats and because I’m a little bit older,  I have certain ways I like to be petted. I like to sleep on your bed or sneak into your chair for a nap when you’re not looking.  I would absolutely love a window I can sun myself in.  I’m dainty and  love to rub heads with you. I would be the happiest in a mature, quiet household. (MB)

Gretchen  ADOPTED

Breed:    Domestic Long Hair

Color:     Black

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~5/2007

I am a real love bug.  I love to snuggle and be held and I love to sleep in the bed with humans.  I am not going to get any bigger.  I will always be a petite, little kitty.  I love my kitty toys and I get along with everyone.  I will do well in a household with kids, but I don’t care much for dogs.  (JP)

Grier

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Torbie (Tabby and Tortie)

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      3/2006

Grier is a real sweetie. If she thinks there is even a remote possibility that you are getting ready to rub her, she will arch her back in anticipation. She will also ask you politely for attention if she feels she is being ignored. She likes to be held and loved on and loves to play with her furry toy mouse. (JP)

Isabella

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Tabby with White

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      5/2008

Isabella gave birth to 5 kittens when she was just 9 months old.  She is exceptionally affectionate and outgoing with people. She was an excellent (and protective) mother to her kittens as well as other kittens in her foster home. Now, they have been adopted and Isabella needs a loving and permanent home. (LK)

Jewels

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Grey

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      5/2008

Jewel is a momma cat rescued from a high kill shelter the day she gave birth to 3 darling kittens. Her kittens have been adopted and now Jewels needs a home of her own. She is very bonded with the other Momma cats in her foster home. She is shy but not mean with people and dogs. She seems to have had a hard life and will need a patient and kind person to gain her trust. (LK)

Kallie

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Calico

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~9/2007

Kallie is a very sweet, lovable and curious  girl.  She may be a little reserved until she gets accustomed to her surroundings, A low- to mid-energy household would be the best home for Kallie although she likes other cats and children.  One thing's for sure, like most calicos, this girl knows how to work a camera!!  (JP)

Layla

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Dilute Calico

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      3/23/2009

Layla is a very sweet and energetic kitten. She gets along with all the humans, cats and doggies she meets!  She would have no problem fitting into her new, forever home.  (LK)

Luella  ADOPTED

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair (Manx mix)

Color:     Black

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~10/2007

Luella and Rhett are siblings.  Luella is more outgoing and vocal than her brother but Rhett is a big love bug once he gets to know you.  Both are very good-natured and inquisitive kittens and will do well with children, calm dogs and other cats.  We would love for them to find their forever home together, if possible, as they are very attached to each other.  (JP)

Mattie

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Tortie

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~6/2004

Mattie -- a/k/a Super Momma -- was left behind by her owners when they moved away.  She was left with 2 adolescent kittens from her first litter and 4 three-week old kittens from her second litter.  She takes no grief from anyone!!  Mattie is sweet and affectionate but does not care to be bothered when she is "meditating".  She is certainly deserving of a forever home of her own!  (BW)

Mojo

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Brown Tabby

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      3/2007

Mojo's foster mommy thinks he's the most handsome boy!  In fact, he's quite the ladies' man and loves to snuggle up with her every opportunity he gets.  He gets along with other cats but sometimes likes to remind them that he is the man in charge.  Mojo would do best in a household without small children.  (BW)

Neve

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     White

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~3/2006

Neve was found in a colony of feral cats in Durham.  She is somewhat shy but definitely not feral!  Her name means "snow" in Portuguese. She is sweet and loves attention.  She gets along well with other cats and loves sitting in front of her foster room window with the breezes coming in while watching the birds and squirrels outside.  (RM)

Phoenix

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Brown Tabby

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      ~7/2007

When I was rescued, I had a little bit of a beer belly.  You know,,, a "spare tire".  I've been working on getting it off so that I can catch the eye of some of the stunning felines in my foster home.  My foster mommy says I'm a gentle soul.  I'm not sure what that means but I hope it involves a warm lap, a sunny window and a TV...  (LK)

Polly

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Grey Tabby

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~3/2008

I am a beautiful girl with extra toes which is why I am called a polydactyl.  I also have dewclaws on my back paws which is very unusual.  I am a little reserved until I get to know you and then all I want to do is be near you and talk to you in my cute kitty talk.  I like to play with other cats and my toy mouse.  I would probably do best in a quiet home with older children and no dogs. (JP)

Rhett

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair (Manx mix)

Color:     Orange Tabby

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      10/2007

Luella and Rhett are siblings.  Luella is more outgoing and vocal than her brother but Rhett is a big love bug once he gets to know you.  Both are very good-natured and inquisitive kittens and will do well with children, calm dogs and other cats.  We would love for them to find their forever home together, if possible, as they are very attached to each other.  (JP)

Salem

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Black

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      ~3/2008

Salem is extremely laid back and mellow.  He is also quite the social butterfly and enjoys meeting new people.  He loves to be held, cuddled and petted.  He should definitely snuggle up with you at night.  He enjoys having a scratching pad (the $5 cardboard kind from Wal-Mart) and does not bother the furniture when he has one.  He likes other animals and is playful with other cats.  He is very cautious around dogs but with a calm dog he should adjust. He likes to play with toys, especially toys that he can roll around the floor.  He talks a lot, which is where he got his name (Sabrina's talking black cat, Salem, on “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”).  Salem is extremely adaptable and will make whoever adopts him very happy; he will be the star of the household! (TC)

Siamie

Breed:    Siamese Mix

Color:     Pointed Cream (Blue eyes)

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      ~10/2003

Siamie was rescued from a feral cat colony but is very sweet and friendly.  He is missing part of one ear due to severe ear parasites when he was living in the colony.  He has been treated by a veterinarian and is doing fine. He just looks a little "different" than most cats.  Siamie thinks that it's as cool as a tattoo or piercing!  (JP)

Simone

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Dark Brown Tabby

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~2002

DECLAWED - DEAF

Simone must have been abandoned, but who could have let such a sweet cat go?  Especially a declawed cat!  She found some good people and camped out on their deck waiting for someone to take care of her.  Her foster mom says she is very affectionate and playful.  Her favorite toy is a red, fuzzy ball that she must think is a mouse.  She chases it, she carries it in her mouth, meowing as if to say, "Look at what I caught!"  "Simone" means "to hear or listen," but because she is deaf, she "listens" with her big green eyes, following her foster mom's movements.  Maybe also due to her deafness, she has a special sweet, trusting nature.  And she does well in thunderstorms!  She loves all humans immediately; other cats, not so much.  The one exception in her foster home is a handsome, black male cat.  She seems to be enamored and is trying to make friends with him.  (CN)

Slater

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Brown Tabby

Gender:  Neutered Male

DOB:      2/1/2008

Slater is Echo's brother.  They are both very sweet, playful and inquisitive -- 100% romping and playful boys!  They both get along great with other cats and dogs.  Echo and Slater do not need to be adopted together and both would make a wonderful addition to most homes.  (RM)

Sonic

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Grey

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~5/1/2008

SPECIAL NEEDS

Sonic and Stormy are siblings that absolutely love each other.  Our vets believe their momma had distemper which left them a little less skilled on their motor ability. The upside is that they are less likely to get into trouble on top of tables and counters.  They are currently in a foster home with other cats, a small dog and small children and are doing wonderful!  Please contact us for more information if you are interested in giving these precious babies a forever home.  (CM)

Stephie

Breed:    Domestic Long Hair

Color:     Tortie

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      ~5/2008

I am a real love bug and a sweet little girl.  I love people and other cats.  I will do well in a household with children of all ages, but I don’t care for dogs.  I had an infection in my eyes when I was younger and I had to have one eye removed, but it doesn’t slow me down a bit!  I would love to be adopted with my sister, Kandi.  We were rescued from a gas station where we were born.  Both of us love to snuggle and be held.  (JP)

Twiggy

Breed:    Domestic Short Hair

Color:     Tortie

Gender:  Spayed Female

DOB:      11/2006

Twiggy may look a little grumpy in this picture -- she undoubtedly would have preferred to be back in her foster home perched in a sunny window rather than at an adoption event -- but she is really very sweet.  A couple of her foster roomies have recently been adopted which has allowed her personality to fully blossom. She would make a delightful addition to most households. (BW)
